EFT Systems are an experienced provider of fire suppression systems installation and maintenance underpinned by BAFE, NSI, NICEIC and FIA accreditation.
Our work meets the standards of BS15004 and provides assurances in respect of all fixed gaseous fire suppression systems.
Gaseous systems should be subject to a planned inspection by the maintenance organisation at least every six months, whilst it is also recommended that a weekly programme of visual inspection is carried out by the system user to ensure that the system is free of faults and that all pressure gauges, where applicable, indicate the correct pressure.
The servicing and maintenance provisions for all systems state that the permissible loss should be not more than 5% of the extinguishant mass and, in the case of super-pressurized systems, more than 10% loss in pressure, adjusted for temperature. This should also include an inspection of the pipework and nozzles to ensure that they are not obstructed, and remain in the designed position, and to ensure that all operating controls are properly set and that components have not been damaged.
Room integrity, and thus gas retention/hold time should be revalidated annually. All HFC gas types eg HFC227EA, FP200 and TTM1230 will have tests carried out as detailed in the F Gas regulation especially leak testing and testing shall only be carried out by Trained Certified engineers registered with the “Fire Industry Association”.
